No shortcuts, no laminate boxes. Here's exactly what's in every Sunny Cove kitchen.
- Frames & Doors 3/4-inch solid hardwood, five-piece door construction (top, bottom, center, left, and right) with a stable paint-grade MDF center panel that won't expand, contract, or crack the way a glued-panel door can.
- Drawer Boxes 5/8-inch solid maple, dovetailed at every corner, with a 1/4-inch plywood bottom.
- Hardware Blum soft-close hinges and slides on every door and drawer, heavy-duty rated.
- Finish Low-VOC, water-based finish — durable, without the lingering paint smell of a solvent-based finish.
- Sink Cabinets Standard sink mats installed for peace of mind against condensation.

Common Questions About Custom Kitchen Cabinets
Does Sunny Cove offer kitchen design services?+
Yes. We offer full design services in-house, and we're just as happy working alongside your own designer if you already have one.
Do you supply the countertops for a new kitchen?+
Yes. Once you choose a countertop, our trusted subcontractors handle fabrication and installation. We recommend quartz for low maintenance, though granite works well too if it's polished every year or two.
Will a sink come with my new kitchen cabinets?+
It depends on the sink. If you pick your sink out at the countertop shop, it's included. If you're supplying your own, we'll need it at our shop before we begin — that's required for farm and apron-front sinks.
Does Sunny Cove supply kitchen appliances?+
No, we don't supply appliances. We do need full specs on every appliance you have or plan to install so we can design the cabinets to fit correctly.
How deep are kitchen cabinets?+
Standard base cabinets run about 24 inches deep and wall cabinets about 12 inches deep. Because every Sunny Cove kitchen is custom-built, we can adjust those dimensions to fit an unusual layout, a tight galley kitchen, or an oversized island.
